Yet another few days staying in your wonderful apartment.  We walk through the door and instantly feel at home.

Even on Tuesday when the rain kept us in we were entertained by watching the filming of James May  on the Golden Hind.

Our third visit and we ticked all the boxes for a brilliant Brixham break:

1. Ate some amazing fish and seafood – highlight was Olive’s ‘sofishticated’ tasting menu and matched wines (and Rockfish).
2. Saw Sammy the seal.
3. Won £10 on a scratch card (spent it 5 minutes later in Brixham’s lovely shops).
4. Walked to Berry Head (loaded jam and cream scones in backpack).
5. Had brunch at the Curious Kitchen . . . . very tasty, drinks at the New Quay Inn and Sunday lunch carvery at the Bell Inn . . . recommend the home-made rum and raisin ice cream.
6. Stayed at One Fisherman’s Loft!

Our second visit to your lovely apartment and every bit as good as the first.

We love that we are able to park our car and not use it again until departure.  Buses are able to take you to most places – we made good use of those.

We had a lovely walk to Berry Head and great breakfast at the Guardhouse Cafe overlooking the sea.  We would recommend eating at La Petite Maison and Crusoes – different in style but exceptional food and service.

Sadly its our last morning.  We are sitting at the open window overlooking the harbour with a cup of coffee watching Brixham wake up.  Hope to see you again soon.

We haven’t travelled far, but Brixham is another world.  We love it here and visit every year.

This apartment was a first for us and well, just wow.  From the communication beforehand, to the welcome, the treats and the accommodation itself, everything was perfect.  Thank you both.

Our stay at One Fisherman’s Loft was truly wonderful.

We were made to feel welcome even before we arrived.  We were met at the door by Ian, a true gentleman, who carried my bag up the stairs – thank you!

A spacious, clean, comfortable apartment in the perfect location, with town just outside the door, and a truly amazing view.  And can’t forget to mention all those things to get us settled in: scones, cream, jam, tea (and there was coffee too), milk, crisps, chocolates and prosecco – cheers!  Even a scratch ticket for each of us, though no luck.  But we did have a win with the weather.

Sorry we’ll miss the Pirate Festival, although not sure how we would have squeezed in anymore fun.  Brixham is wonderful.

A beautiful apartment in the most excellent location overlooking the harbour.  What a find!  Everything here that you could wish for.

Thank you Ian and Liz for being such wonderful hosts.  We received the most warm and friendly welcome at the door and help with our luggage to the apartment.  The Loft is so well equipped and the extra touches made our stay extra special.  Thank you so much for the chocolate eggs, prosecco and the cream scones were delicious.  The bed was so comfortable and the towels were lush!  Everything has been thought of and we loved all the local artwork around the place (so much so we were inspired to buy some from the local art shop to take home).  We enjoyed a Mexican themed dinner at the Berry Head Hotel (recommended by our hosts) and tried some locally caught fish in the fantastic restaurants in town.  Greenway was a great day out and the ferry across to Dartmouth was splendid.

We have had a brilliant time celebrating my birthday and Ian and Liz’s hospitality and beautiful facilities at the Loft made everything perfect!

We hope to be back in the summer and would very much love to stay here again.

What a fabulous, fully equipped modern apartment!

We really appreciated the welcome gifts, and so nice to have the allocated parking space so close to the apartment, which meant we could just park the car and enjoy our holiday.

So lovely to have so many restaurants, bars and shops on the doorstep.

The highlight of our stay was the Paignton to Dartmouth steam train and passenger ferry trip.

Normally we never go to the same place twice but we enjoyed the apartment and Brixham so much we could not resist!  Found lots of new things to do – new parts of the coast path, beware Kingswear to Brixham – it’s a toughy, got the ferry (lower) to Dartmouth both as passengers and car – more coast path and lovely shops, finally got to eat at Shoals (well worth it, monkfish curry and view a must) and they had fixed the Shoalstone pool just in time for us to have a swim in it.  Also managed to find time to do things we loved last time.  Weather fab again, the loft faultless.

Our third visit to Fisherman’s Loft and it never fails to excite us with its homely comforts and beautiful views.  Ian and Liz are the perfect hosts and always meet us with a smile, giving lots of hints and tips on the best places to visit.  On their recommendation we booked a table at “At Thai” for our last evening, and my goodness this was the best Thai meal we have ever experienced.  It was delicious!!

We also walked out to Berry Head and had breakfast at the Guardhouse, something we do on every visit, and this too is highly recommended.

We thought this place looked like a little gem – how incorrect, it is more like the Koh-i-Noor diamond!  Everything is perfect, every little detail is covered and much more added to it.  For us, in desperate need of a break it was wonderful and we will be back as soon as possible for more R and R.

Our hosts Ian and Liz are exceptional too, they have made the apartment so comfortable, it doesn’t matter about the weather, just chill.

Quay57, the restaurant two doors away was excellent, food brilliant and the staff attentive and helpful.

Eventually got here for our 3rd (long overdue) stay at your lovely apartment!!  We really missed last years visit to our “bolthole”!!

Sadly for the first time the weather hasn’t been so kind to us – but its not stopped us getting out and about.

Was so nice to bump into you both for a catch up and glad to hear you’re all settled in your “new” home!!

Look forward to returning again next year, despite all the uncertainty etc. it was so lovely to return here knowing you’d both of taken every care and attention.

It has been a while since we had a holiday with just the 2 of us and this week did not disappoint.  From the friendly welcome, despite us turning up early, all the thoughtful gifts and treats, much enjoyed and we won £2!!, the beautiful spotlessly clean and well equipped apartment with a view we never tired of, the long walks along the SW Coast Path, ferry ride to Torquay, sitting by the harbour watching the comings and goings, the amazing weather, evening drinks in our sun trap at The Prince William, cocktails at Liberty’s, great meals out wherever we ate, to just having time together enjoying Brixham.

Well it took 2 cancellations because of COVID but we finally got here!  What a lovely apartment, views to die for.  Loads to see and do.  We so enjoyed our week just chilling, trying all the coffee shops and meals out.  The “Chart Room” became our favourite coffee shop, so unusual, cakes and scones fabulous!!  We look forward to our return visit in September and reacquainting ourselves with Liz and Ian – a lovely couple.

We have had a lovely week, we enjoyed the ‘extras’.  Thank you for the well equipped and comfortable apartment.  We couldn’t have wished for a better location to explore Torbay!

We definitely made the most of the local eateries.  We were lucky we had pre-booked at most, which meant we were lucky enough to sample some great food!  We would recommend Beamers (fantastic food and wine!), Simply Fish (you have to try the fish curry and chips!) and for a treat the Curious Kitchen (great breakfast).

We also enjoyed the sunset cruise with fish and chips from Rockfish.  We used this as a great base and went on trips to Kingswear, Dartmouth, Torquay and Paignton by bus, boat and steam train!

P.S.  We also made a couple of trips to Liberty Cocktail bar 🙂

This really was the tonic we both needed this year.

The pictures of 1 Fisherman’s Loft plus the area sold it to us but our stay was even better than anticipated.

Our second visit and just as good as last year – even the weather surpassed itself.

Thank you Ian and Liz, this holiday home is the best we have occupied in 47 years of self-catering – it is brilliant and thank you for all the goodies.

It was great re-visiting Brixham and finding places not already explored. Would highly recommend travelling to Torquay by ferry and visiting The Living Coast, well worth a visit.

Also Quay 57 – the fish kebabs are brilliant.

A lovely week in this lovely apartment for the second time.

Lovely welcome from Liz and Ian, great base for exploring Brixham and beyond and we even got to see Sammy the seal (and his friends) by the breakwater.

Recommend: Breakwater Bistro for lunch or dinner walk up the breakwater to the lighthouse, also Quay 57 next door.

Thursday we went on the bus to Totnes and had an enjoyable day there, we found a nice pub for lunch and today its been sunny.  The other things we are wanting to visit we hope to do in July.  thank you both for our stay in your fabulous apartment.

Thank you Ian and LIz, last minute weekend break.

What a fantastic apartment, cosy, clean, quirky and just felt so warm and inviting.  The personal touches plus all the accessories, you name it you have thought of it.  You have thought of everything, so glad I choose Brixham, its been a wonderful mini break.  We went to Paignton Zoo, Berry Head, the pub you recommended and ate at Berry Head bistro and cafe and Beamers, both lovely food and great staff.  You really have done an amazing job and should be very proud of what you have achieved to give us the perfect break.  And of course the personal meet and greet was an extra lovely touch too.

What a lovely weekend.  The apartment was perfect and Ian and Liz are wonderful hosts.  They made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.  Their thoughtful touches from helping carry bags to the cream tea and fizz were great.

Ian and Liz thank you for our welcome and Stuarts birthday gifts, very much appreciated and so thoughtful.

The apartment One Fisherman’s Loft is fabulous, you have thought of everything to make our stay so enjoyable.  We tried some of your many recommendations – bought an explorer ticket and visited Kingswear -> Dartmouth, ferry to Totnes, bus to Paignton and back to Brixham staying a few hours in each resort.  Also tried Prince William for carvery – very nice, The Bullers, The Manor Pub again nice and Nick’s fish and chips.

We have had a wonderful time that started with great hosts – we will definitely be back.

We concur with everything written before regarding the apartment and hosts – 10/10.

– Restaurants – Breakwater Bistro great for breakfast and lunch with a view.  The Cowshed was very good too (alley opposite Prince William Statue).

– Places to see, Coleton Fishacre, home of the D’Oyly Cartes, was excellent.  Paignton easily accessible via the #12 bus service, but don’t bother, pretty depressing place.

– Walks – South towards Berry Head and on to Shakham point. Lovely views and about 5-6 mile round trip.

Northwards along coastal path to Broadsands is also worth it.  Again about 5-6 miles.

– Great butchers on Fore Street and fishmongers opposite market square (on way to apartment parking place).

Brixham really is a wonderful place to stay and One Fisherman’s Loft a wonderful apartment.

Well what can we say.  This is our second stay here and it was just as fabulous as the first time.

Very thoughtful touches make it very welcoming and the apartment is everything you could ask for with such a beautiful view.

Visited Lupton House Christmas Fair which was just lovely followed by Brixham’s Lights and Illuminations.  Had lovely meals at Shoals and Quay 57 both thoroughly enjoyable.

All I really want to say is thank you Ian and Liz.

You certainly deserve all the compliments heaped upon you.  We really enjoyed staying in the flat and all the lovely people in the town of Brixham.  This visit I (Carole) experienced the Fish Market tour with the amazing Barry and all the other great personalities at that venue.  Do go and have a chat with Jake at the veg shop near the Co-op.  A young man with many great ideas and lovely fresh veg.  Simply Fish fish and chip shop lovely happy plaice.

What a lovely home away from home.  Everything you could possibly need and want has been thought out and provided for.  Brixham and the surrounding area are beautiful, we very much enjoyed our walks to Berry Head and a stop off at Berry Head hotel is a must.  We also recommend Simply Fish for fish n chips and The Curious Kitchen for breakfast.  We’ve had such a lovely time here we just wish we had planned to stay longer.  Hope to be back again soon!

For the first year, I swam most days in the Shoalstone outdoor pool – I don’t know why I haven’t used it before, once in it is really enjoyable.  Andy found various scenic routes for running and enjoyed a bit of fishing – many thanks.

WOW – What a break.

First to be greeted by Ian and Liz, who truly are amazing hosts.  Helped with bags, and shown round the wonderful apartment, which is spotless, cozy and very homely.

Ian and Liz have provided everything you could possibly need, all the little extras are just brill.

Their knowledge about the area was great and we have eaten in some lovely restaurants (probably eaten too much), and apart from the odd shower the weather has been fantastic.  Only down note , fish market tour was fully booked, but we will be back!!

Great holiday again thanks to our hosts.  We have not wanted for anything.

Can not thank you enough for the ‘Fish and Chip Cruise’ tickets.  It was a wonderful night and hope its on next year when we come down, if so ‘tickets please!’.

The flat is perfect – spotless and super comfy.

What can we say that hasn’t been already?  Your apartment is brilliantly located, your attention to detail second to none – all the extras make our stay extra special, all the recommendations are spot on (although we didn’t get to try them all!).  The ‘Guardhouse Best’ breakfast sarnies were particularly good as was the fish at “Shoals”.  Fish and chips from “Nicks” on the harbour front was also good.  We hopped on the ferry to torquay (£3 return) and the fudge shop (Rolys) near the ferry port is amazing (Gin and Lemon fudge etc!!).

The trawler race was a little soggy in the morning but otherwise a lovely weekend away, we’ll be back.  Many thanks.

As frequent worldwide travellers since retiring over 17 years ago we have stayed in many apartments – One Fisherman’s Loft rates in our “Top 3”.

“Location, Location, Location” as per real estate parlance, magnificent view over Brixham harbour.

Convenient to transport, shops, pubs, restaurants etc.  Comfortable, well appointed.

“Mine Hosts” Liz and Ian:

#One, the best we have had the pleasure of meeting.  You two are the measure to which all others should aspire, awesome! (or oarsome in nautical parlance!). e.g. :

“Goodies” on arrival, “Treasure Chest”, box of adaptor plugs, puzzles/games for rainy days.  WIFI – free, stable/reliable/fast.

Local knowledge such as dining out/sightseeing/public transport etc.

Reference book is exceptionally well laid out, informative – covers everything you need to know . . . . and some.  Going above and beyond the call of duty: Meet and greet at front door – helped us with 2 heavy suitcases, 2 cabin bags, several supermarket bags (we’re on the road for more than 2 months).  Nuff said!!

Regarding our hosts and their property there’s nothing new we can add.  Both absolutely faultless.  We followed Liz and Ian’s food and drink rec’s too.

– Shoals is first class fish restaurant.

– Breakwater Bistro – lovely for food, or just drinks, plus cracking views.

– Claws Indoors does lovely smoked salmon and scrambled breakfast with bucks fizz!

– Rockfish is OK but the family run eateries are better.

– New Quay Inn friendly and decent beer.

– Simply Fish takeaway – Simply the best.

Had such a relaxing weekend away.  The flat is amazing and the treats you both left out was such a nice touch.

What can we possibly say, that has not been said already?

A wonderful apartment and we’ve had a lovely stay in Brixham.

One very tiny disappointment (and not with the apartment!) is that some of the attractions we hoped to visit were closed at this time of year, despite being “advertised” as “all year round”.  Never mind – we’ll have to return!

Firstly, what great hosts you have been.  Contacting me to see what my travel arrangements were and then meeting me at the bus stop to deliver me safely to the apartment.

The apartment itself is beautiful with fantastic views!  Decorated to a very high standard and kitted out with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay – plus the extra lovely treats!

You are very warm, friendly and personable people and I wish you every luck with what seems to be a thriving apartment let business.

I will be writing a very positive review on TripAdvisor because you have gone ‘above and beyond’ all expectations.  Hope to return again some day.

Wow . . . What a wonderful apartment in such a beautiful location.  A fantastic welcome from Ian and Liz who explained all about the local attractions.

Highly recommend an early morning walk out to Berry Head and breakfast at the Gate House Cafe which was superb and reasonably priced.

The apartment has everything you could possibly need; is warm and welcoming, and the views are outstanding.

The ‘goodies’ left for our arrival were very much appreciated; and all the little necessities are also catered for should you forget anything (as I did!).

We will most definitely be returning!!!

Thank you for a wonderful stay – been hassle free.  Very warm welcome with some generous goodies upon arrival.  The apartment has been fantastic with needing nothing and Brixham being everything we were hoping for.  Will be recommending highly.

Your home is rubbish . . .

These are words you will “NEVER” hear.

I honestly don’t know where to start, from the moment you met us on our wedding evening we could feel your warmth and generosity – the food and drink that you got for us, the champagne a magnificent gesture – your apartment is a beautiful dream to stay in, suitably small but like a tardis – BIG.  The attention to detail superb – phone chargers, toiletries, sewing equipment etc. etc.

Thank you for our special honeymoon stay, can we come to stay again please?

What a welcome and fabulous first impression this lovely apartment makes.

We had a fantastic time.  The Shoals restaurant was the best – gluten free batter yum!

Walking to Dartmouth via coastal path was a challenge but definitely memorable.

We couldn’t have asked for more in the apartment – Thank you so much.

Having seen the photos and read the reviews, we were kind of hoping that this apartment would be good.  “Good” doesn’t do it justice.  Perfectly located with amazing views, Ian and Liz have thought of everything to ensure everyone has a perfect time here.  The “Welcome Gifts” go above and beyond.  We really liked the way the apartment has been furnished; we’ve stayed in so many places where the decor or appliances are tatty and ‘just functional’.

No 1 is well thought out and beautifully decorated.  The bed is very comfortable and towels thick.  During wet weather we were happy to relax in the warm and dry.

What a find!

Excellent accommodation in a superb location; who could want for more?

Ian and Liz made us very welcome, the local guide and welcome pack were a great help on getting our bearings.

We are reluctantly leaving, but relaxed and refreshed.

This is our 1st visit to Brixham, we’ve wanted to come ever since watching “Fish Town” on T.V.

Your apartment is top notch and the little touches, decor, down to the basket of “essentials” in the bathroom, are fantastic.  The views were better than we expected and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
