About Us

Here is a little bit of information about our journey (how we ended up living in Brixham).

We started our move to Brixham in 2015, finally moving permanently in February 2016. Previously we lived in Sandhurst, Berkshire.

We have always wanted to live near the sea, and although we had never visited Brixham before April 2015 we fell in love with it straightaway and knew this was where we wanted to be.

Running a holiday apartment was not anything we had seriously considered, but when One Fisherman’s Loft became available we both agreed it would be interesting and fun (and scary!) to try it, and we absolutely love it.  We particularly enjoy meeting our guests when they arrive to start their holiday, we have lost count of the number of times guests have told us “Wow, it really does look like it looks in your photos on your website”.

Ian has taken early retirement from a job in IT, but still spends a lot of time keeping the website and social media pages updated. Liz spends a lot of her time making sure our holiday home is a place that people will enjoy when they visit, so all the personal touches are down to her!

Ian loves photography and so living in Brixham is a dream as there are so many wonderful photo opportunities!  We post many pictures of Brixham on our Facebook page, so feel free to like us – One Fisherman’s Loft Facebook Page.

We enjoy walking and Brixham is an ideal place for that with the South West Coast Path running around the town. In particular we think there is nothing better than a walk up to Berry Head – the views are stunning!

We are very proud of One Fisherman’s Loft and do our best to make sure our guests have the holiday they have always dreamed of, we think we have thought of everything you will possibly need, but if not please let us know.

As we live in Brixham (only a five minute walk from One Fisherman’s Loft) we love to share our experiences and knowledge of where to go, what to do and recommendations on where to eat etc. So if you do come and stay in our apartment don’t be afraid to ask us!
